The client
Billdr is a Canadian startup building a digital platform connecting homeowners to vetted contractors supplying home renovation services. Founded in 2020 and based in Montreal, the company had raised $500k in a pre-seed round when they came to us. With only 6 months of runway left, they needed to increase their inbound lead volume in order to hit the metrics for their next funding round.
What we did
Their funnel had previously been working so we focused on reviving their paid channels through rapid split-testing, new audience research and testing new markets.
Month 1
Built growth strategy, identifying two main levers: find new audiences and new markets. Worked with product team to implement better tracking on user activities.
Month 2-3
Rapid testing of new audiences and creatives on different channels. Found traction on Facebook ads with small budgets (<$1000).
Month 4
Scaled up spending on Facebook ads, explored US market with iterative messaging tests, using data from previous split tests for creative.
Month 5-6
Found traction in Chicago, scaled up spending across all channels. Lead flow hit 605% growth.
The outcome
After 6 months we hit 6X lead growth from where we started, with the CAC more than halved, increasing both revenue and profitability. With the help of these metrics, the company was able to successfully raise $3.2m in its Seed round.
